BUDGET AND TREASURY DIRECTORATE

 

CHIEF ADMINISTRATOR: DEMAND MANAGEMENT

(SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT – DEMAND MANAGEMENT)

POSITION CODE: 180032

TASK Grade 12 (R337 332 – R468 996 per annum)

(Basic salary only, excluding benefits)

 

Qualifications and experience:

 

  • National Diploma or B degree in Purchasing/Supply Chain/Auditing/Finance or related field.
  • Preferably three to five years’ experience in the Supply Chain Management environment - at least two years should be at management level.
  • A valid Code EB Driver’s Licence.
  • Computer literacy.

 

Key attributes and competencies:

 

  • Proficient report-writing skills in English.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Completion of at least two to five unit standards of the National Treasury Competency Framework applicable to Supply Chain Management Officials.

 

Job purpose:

 

  • Managing the daily activities of the Demand Management Section.
  • Reviewing and co-ordinating the Metro’s Procurement Plan and the alignment of the IDP, Procurement Plan and Budget.
  • Conducting market research for supplies/industry/market analysis.
  • Identifying risks with regard to Demand Management functions and reporting these to the Assistant Director.
  • Working hand-in-hand with user departments, Supply Chain Management and the Budget and Financial Accounting Sub-directorate.
  • Providing input and analysis for demand reviews to the Assistant Director.
  • Monitoring that organisational and operational requirements are adequately provided for to meet internal and external needs.
  • Reporting to the Assistant Director all identified risks on the Demand Management Section.
  • Implementing Supply Chain Management Demand Management processes and procedures.

  

As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, security vetting and psychometric assessment.
