Loadshedding

Please note the addition of the new 24-hour Industrial Load-shedding Groups and the schedule applicable to those businesses.

The power outage that affected Newton Park, surrounds on 18 Jan 2023, has resulted in the following: 

  1. The following substations were fed from 5th Avenue sub, Newton Park (Group 12) – however, due to a Transformer fault, they will now be fed from Kragga Kamma substation (Group 17): 

Kentucky; Willet; Westway; 7th Ave, 7th Ave Mini, Landbank sub; Yasmin; 4th Ave Mini No.2; 34-4th Ave, Worraker Mini, 6th Ave Mini, 1 and 2 Worraker Street  

  1. The following substations were fed from 5th Avenue sub, Newton Park (Group 12) – however, due to a Transformer fault, they will now be fed from Lorraine substation (Group 16): 

Handsworth; 4th Ave sub; 6thAve sub; 72-4th Ave; Servistar; 5th Ave Exchange 

  1. The following substations were fed from 5th Avenue sub, Newton Park (Group 12) – however, due to a Transformer fault, they will now be fed from Diaz Road substation (Group 9):

Publication and availability of load-shedding schedules is a NERSA requirement and is not indicative that loads-hedding will proceed.  

Schedules are made available in the event that Eskom issues an instruction to implement.
